AJAR is an architectural studio that realises spatial design concepts through public art, installations, architecture, interior design, exhibition, event management and more.

Our design philosophy is born from the intrinsic relationship between space and people; and that ‘architecture’ is a creative solution to real-life constraints. Through challenging the common misconception of ‘architecture equals real-estate’ and examining common stereotypes, AJAR specializes in reimagining experiences and redefining human-spatial connections by exploring unconventional angles and unique narratives to create responsive and dynamic spatial encounters.

We are passionate about ‘architecture’ in a wider context. We believe that any intervention, regardless of size and medium, are equal opportunities to elevate physical experiences and bring purpose to people and places.

As an adjective, ‘AJAR’ means to be neither entirely open, nor entirely shut. It is being open to new possibilities and making way for something more to happen. As a studio, AJAR fundamentally believes that the purpose of life is simply to taste experience to the utmost; that variety is the very spice of life. We go above and beyond the standard building experience by always challenging the status quo, and through unique narratives, our contribution is a diverse range of responsive, transformative and well-executed spatial encounters that inspires the everyday.
